Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mark Mcknight! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Trey Walsh! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcknight has his takedown stuffed and Walsh counters with a nice uppercut. Mcknight has his takedown stuffed so Walsh counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Walsh working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. Walsh would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Mcknight bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Walsh's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Walsh has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Mcknight missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mcknight trying to control the position from guard on top but Walsh is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Walsh is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Walsh really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mcknight. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mcknight preventing the sweep. Walsh has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Mcknight has passed into side control.
Mcknight is looking to take a break and control but Walsh is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. We've been hearing good reports from Mcknight's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Walsh can't do much from the bottom here.

Mcknight wants to control for a moment but Walsh uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walsh is positioning himself well to prevent Mcknight advancing to mount. Mcknight wants to take a breather but Walsh is having none of it. Walsh keeping hold of Mcknight's head, controlling as best he can.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Walsh takes the fight into the clinch. Walsh jumps guard and drags Mcknight to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Mcknight won't allow Walsh to sweep him here. Walsh keeping moving, preventing Mcknight from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Walsh holds on and takes a little breather. Walsh is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mcknight is controlling him. Walsh throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Walsh looks winded! Mcknight trying to control the position from guard on top but Walsh is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mcknight is really struggling to control Walsh but he's trying to hold on to the position. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Walsh is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Trey Walsh dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Sloppy strikes from Mcknight. Those never looked like landing. Walsh throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mcknight tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Walsh is in Mcknight's guard. Mcknight manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Walsh manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Walsh is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Walsh is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Walsh avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Walsh pulls Mcknight in close to his closed guard and prevents Mcknight from doing any damage or advancing position. Mcknight trying to control the position from guard on top but Walsh is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mcknight is fighting to break Walsh's control of his arms but Walsh is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Trey Walsh wasn't active enough on the ground. Mcknight gets caught flat footed, as Walsh shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Walsh got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mcknight has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Walsh has managed to get both his arms back between Mcknight's legs - danger averted. Mcknight looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Walsh postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Walsh would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Walsh wants to control from the top but Mcknight keeps moving. Mcknight looking to hit a scissor sweep but Walsh is one step ahead there. Mcknight is looking for a triangle but Walsh pushes his legs off easily.

Walsh pushes down on Mcknight's leg and manages to get into half guard. Walsh is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mcknight has managed to free his arm - good work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Mark Mcknight will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Mcknight gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Walsh is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Mcknight manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Mcknight can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Walsh is looking to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walsh tries to lock up and control but Mcknight gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Walsh can't escape the position.
Walsh takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Mcknight looking to control but Walsh is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Walsh looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Mcknight is looking to control Walsh but Walsh is wriggling around and keeping busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walsh wants to escape the position but for the time being he's just trying to control the pace. Walsh tries to roll but Mcknight sticks to his back.
Mcknight is punishing Walsh with some ground and pound. Mcknight lands a punch to the side of the head from the back. Mcknight misses with an elbow to the head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Walsh is trying to remain composed but Mcknight is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walsh is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Walsh is looking to control the hands but Mcknight breaks free and manages to sink in a rear naked choke that ends the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mark Mcknight! After winning the bout, Mark Mcknight thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
