Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bennie Mullen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bobby Marcus!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marcus throws a series of punches but Mullen avoids them all with ease.
Marcus goes for a double leg but Mullen avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mullen continues to drive forward.
Mullen keeps control of Marcus as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Marcus tries to pull guard but Mullen holds him up against the cage and eventually Marcus drops back down to his feet.

Mullen pulls guard.
Mullen is looking to stand up but Marcus isn't so interested in that idea.
Marcus wants to pass the guard but Mullen is keeping the position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Bobby Marcus wasn't active enough on the ground.
Marcus dives in for a single leg takedown but Mullen sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Marcus misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mullen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Marcus swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Marcus checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Marcus chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Mullen can pounce on him.

Mullen darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Mullen seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Marcus really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mullen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mullen takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Mullen decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Mullen pushes Marcus up against the cage in a clinch.

Marcus shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mullen as he avoids it easily.

Mullen throws a wild body kick that Marcus sees coming a mile off.
Marcus wants to clinch up but Mullen keeps it at a distance.

Mullen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Marcus but Marcus pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Mullen is trying hard to land a takedown here. Marcus sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Marcus shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mullen pinned against the cage. Mullen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Horrible takedown attempt by Marcus or perhaps it was just good defense by Mullen, which made it look bad.
Marcus tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mullen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Mullen shoots in for a takedown but Marcus shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Mullen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Marcus's waist but Marcus gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mullen off to one side.

Mullen stuffs the takedown attempt from Marcus. Marcus gets slowly back to his feet.
Mullen tries for a takedown but Marcus sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Marcus throws a lazy right hand but Mullen sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Mullen doesn't manage to clinch there - Marcus circles away.
Marcus is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Bobby Marcus seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Marcus fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Marcus shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mullen as he jumps to the side.

Mullen tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Marcus defends well and Mullen ends up having to push Marcus into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Marcus tries to keep at a distance but Mullen has taken the fight into the clinch.
Mullen is trying to drag Marcus to the mat but Marcus just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Bobby Marcus.
I think Marcus has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
