Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nathanial Salazar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alex Boyd!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyd avoids a punch combination nicely.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Salazar wants to control but Boyd is keeping busy.

Boyd takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Boyd prevents Salazar from standing back up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Salazar tries to keep at a distance but Boyd has taken the fight into the clinch.

Salazar ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Salazar no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Salazar had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Boyd defends it easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Salazar closes this distance looking for a takedown but Boyd circles away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Boyd. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
