PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Micah Jacobson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Khabib Nokanedov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khabib Nokanedov told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are James Glass, Richard Clark and William Gold.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nokanedov fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jacobson sprawls well initially but Nokanedov persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Nokanedov stops Jacobson from getting back to his feet.
Nokanedov winds up and cracks Jacobson with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Jacobson is trying to stand back up but Nokanedov is controlling him

It looks like Micah Jacobson has been cut.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nokanedov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jacobson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nokanedov scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Nokanedov looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Jacobson really is a fat lump.
Nokanedov prevents Jacobson from standing back up.
Jacobson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Nokanedov scores with a couple of nice shots.
Jacobson tries to kick Nokanedov off in order to stand up. Nokanedov Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Nokanedov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jacobson, who protects the arm well.

Nokanedov lands some shots froms side control.

Nokanedov tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nokanedov has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Nokanedov tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Nokanedov is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Jacobson's shoulder. That is not cool.
You can see the frustration on Jacobson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Nokanedov scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Jacobson to see if he's OK.
Nokanedov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jacobson keeps working.
Nokanedov lands a few punches from side control.

Jacobson is trying to get back to his feet.
Jacobson is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A big shot lands for Nokanedov! That's hurt Jacobson! Will he recover? Nokanedov fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
