Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jorge Sutton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anatoliy Vasserman! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Matheus Silva and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sutton tries to clinch but Vasserman is having none of it. Sutton ducks under a wild hook from Vasserman. Sutton tries to close the distance and clinch but Vasserman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Sutton keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Vasserman misses with a takedown and Sutton counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Sutton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Vasserman tries to kick Sutton off but Sutton keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Sutton is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Vasserman is just riding it out for now. Sutton eventually gives up the hold. Vasserman is trying to escape back to his feet but Sutton uses the scramble to pass into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vasserman struggling a bit here. Vasserman being controlled for a moment. Vasserman is trying to buck Sutton off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Vasserman tries to improve position but can't. Sutton prevents Vasserman from escaping the position. Vasserman wants to get back to his feet but Sutton is dominant here and he's now got Vasserman's back! What can Vasserman do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vasserman trying to control the position but Sutton manages to sink in the hooks. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vasserman is trying to stand back up. Sutton controlling the position well here. Vasserman rolled but Sutton kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vasserman trying to get back to his feet but Sutton is in full control for now. Sutton is not going to allow Vasserman to sit and survive in this position. Sutton slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Sutton. Sutton prevents Vasserman from escaping the position. You can see the frustration on Vasserman's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Jorge Sutton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Sutton stands up and beckons Vasserman to his feet.

Sutton is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Jorge Sutton is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Vasserman doesn't succeed with the takedown and Sutton decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Vasserman's guard. Sutton won't allow Vasserman to get back to his feet. Sutton throws a big right hand that misses. Sutton is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vasserman is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Sutton has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jorge Sutton wasn't doing enough on the ground. Vasserman dives in and grabs Sutton's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sutton pushes down on Vasserman's head and hops out. Vasserman is breathing heavily. Sutton gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Sutton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Vasserman shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Sutton counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Vasserman! Jorge Sutton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anatoliy Vasserman. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sutton controls the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sutton has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Sutton drives through and clinches with Vasserman against the cage.
Vasserman blocks the elbow strike.
Vasserman wants the takedown. Sutton is fighting it off but Vasserman persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Sutton's guard against the cage. Sutton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Sutton has Vasserman pulled in close to control his posture. Sutton has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vasserman has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sutton is proving hard to escape from. Sutton lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Vasserman wants to get back to his feet but Sutton passes into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Vasserman tries to kick Sutton off but Sutton keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sutton manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Vasserman on his heels. He'll look to pass Vasserman's guard now, I'm sure. Sutton slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Sutton preventing the sweep. Vasserman throws his legs up looking for a submission but Sutton uses it to pass to side control.
Sutton just content to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vasserman tries to control but Sutton manages to take his back. Vasserman trying to get back to his feet but Sutton is in full control for now. Sutton is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vasserman is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Sutton controls the action. Vasserman trying to control the action but Sutton just sinks the hooks in.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sutton keeps control of the position easily here as Vasserman tries to buck him off.

Vasserman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sutton pinned against the cage. Sutton gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's four minutes gone in the round. Sutton closes the distance and clinches. Sutton has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Vasserman clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Vasserman just trying to survive but Sutton is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Sutton controlling from the back.
And that's the end of the fight! Jorge Sutton showed his dominance in that final round. Well Sutton has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
