Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Nevskiiy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edgar Mayhem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Edgar Mayhem!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Ivan Kurochkin and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mayhem closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Nevskiiy is trying to get back to full guard.
Nevskiiy wants to control but Mayhem is keeping busy.
Nevskiiy tries to get to full guard but Mayhem has control of the leg.
Mayhem takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Mayhem moves nicely into side control.
Mayhem wants to stand but Nevskiiy has his arm trapped.

Mayhem wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nevskiiy, who protects the arm well.

Nevskiiy is staying active underneath Mayhem, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Mayhem stops Nevskiiy from getting back to his feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Edgar Mayhem was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Nevskiiy is trying to maintain the position but Mayhem is very close to passing his half guard.

Mayhem landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mayhem is looking to take a break and control but Nevskiiy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Nevskiiy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mayhem on the ground.
Nevskiiy wants to control but Mayhem is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Mayhem wants to stand but Nevskiiy has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Nevskiiy tries to roll over but Mayhem keeps him under control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Nevskiiy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Mayhem leaves Nevskiiy with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Nevskiiy is looking to improve his position but Mayhem isn't that keen on the idea.
Mayhem wants to control the pace but Nevskiiy is squirming around nicely.
Mayhem lands a big shot there that rocks Nevskiiy but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Nevskiiy is in all sorts of trouble here.
Nevskiiy tries to lock up and control but Mayhem gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Mayhem cracks Nevskiiy with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Nevskiiy really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Nevskiiy is just holding on here. Mayhem manages to take his back.
Mayhem is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

Nevskiiy fending off the submission attempt from Mayhem.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Will Mayhem go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Nevskiiy trying to control but not successfully.
Nevskiiy tries to break free.
Nevskiiy is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Mayhem looking for the choke but no joy.
A lull in the action here.

Nevskiiy really must keep his cool here. He's controlling one of Mayhem's hands and whilst he does that, he's got a chance of escaping the position.
Edgar Mayhem has got the better of the ground game so far.
You can see the frustration on Nevskiiy's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Nevskiiy is working hard here to advance position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mayhem trying to control.
Mayhem is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Mayhem gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Mayhem gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Mayhem apologises and we restart here on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Edgar Mayhem showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Nevskiiy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mayhem manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Nevskiiy getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Mayhem tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nevskiiy swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Nevskiiy darts in and clinches Mayhem up against the cage.

Nevskiiy breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Mayhem counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Mayhem controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Nevskiiy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mayhem gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Nevskiiy is trying to keep Mayhem in close.

Mayhem trying to stand up but can't free himself from Nevskiiy's guard.
Nevskiiy looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Nevskiiy is trying to control the position but Mayhem postures up.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Mayhem shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Nevskiiy manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Mayhem. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Mayhem slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Nevskiiy trying to remain calm as Mayhem controls from the top position.
Nevskiiy is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Mayhem has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Mayhem is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Nevskiiy is trying to escape and Mayhem transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Nevskiiy is forced to tap! Nice work there by Mayhem! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Edgar Mayhem!
