Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Max Jacobs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Durrant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Max Jacobs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, David Durrant! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Sano and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Durrant shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Durrant was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Durrant thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Durrant avoids the attempt from Jacobs to control. Jacobs wants to get back to his feet.
Durrant has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Jacobs wants to hold on but Durrant pushes him away. Durrant prevents Jacobs from getting the reversal. Durrant working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Jacobs gets back to half guard. Durrant is working for a kimura but Jacobs is defending it quite comfortably.
Durrant trying to control the action but Jacobs is working from the bottom. Jacobs wants to improve his position but Durrant is controlling well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jacobs pushes Durrant off looking to stand but Durrant dives back in and keeps control.

Jacobs knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Durrant on the ground. Jacobs is defending against the submission attempts here by Durrant.
Durrant looks gassed! Jacobs controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Jacobs has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Durrant is working away from the top position though.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jacobs tries to clinch but Durrant moves out of range. Jacobs gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Durrant counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Durrant won't allow Jacobs to sweep him here. Jacobs is trying to control the position but Durrant postures up. Durrant has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jacobs is proving hard to escape from. Jacobs wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Jacobs wants to sweep here but Durrant controlling him for the moment. Jacobs looking to control.
Durrant won't allow Jacobs to sweep him here. Durrant is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Jacobs is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Jacobs has escaped and now he's on top! Jacobs wants to control from the top but Durrant keeps moving. Durrant throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Jacobs trying to control the position from guard on top but Durrant is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Durrant has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jacobs can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Durrant looking to sweep here. No luck so far. It's preventing any offense from Jacobs, at least for the moment. Durrant's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Jacobs wants to clinch and Durrant counters with a takedown into side control. Durrant works to advance to full mount. Jacobs defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Jacobs sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Jacobs wants to get back to his feet.
Jacobs is refusing to be controlled, as Durrant sits in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Durrant throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Jacobs is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Jacobs trying to control here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Durrant is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Jacobs wants to sweep here but Durrant controlling him for the moment.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Jacobs wants to clinch and Durrant counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Durrant has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Jacobs avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Jacobs controlling the action here for a moment.

Durrant looking for a triangle here. Jacobs is fighting it but it looks tight! Durrant pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Jacobs is tapping out - this one is all over!
