Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ryan Fletcher!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnny Reyes!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Richard Clark and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Reyes closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Fletcher quickly recovers to half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Fletcher wants to get back to his feet.

Reyes is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Fletcher has managed to free his arm - good work.
Reyes throwing shots but Fletcher is blocking nicely.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Reyes lands a nice short elbow.
Reyes stops Fletcher from getting back to his feet.
Reyes has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Fletcher has one foot on Reyes's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Reyes has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Fletcher is landing a low percentage of strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Reyes takes a swing at Fletcher's ribcage but misses.
No joy there for Fletcher, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Fletcher is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Reyes is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Fletcher is hurt! He's hurt bad - Reyes fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Fletcher from any more punishment! Congratulations to Reyes! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Johnny Reyes!

Our winner, Johnny Reyes, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
