Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dan Gable (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robin Hood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Robin Hood has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dan Gable! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robin Hood! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, John Roberts and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hood throws a combination. Gable tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Gable has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Hood scores with the left hand. Gable knows he should have avoided that one. Gable lands a head shot. Hood fails to land with a series of punches.
Hood throws a series of punches but Gable avoids them all with ease. Hood throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hood throws a series of strikes that have Gable backpedaling.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gable misses with a jab to the body
and Hood counters with a lovely straight right hand! Hood throws a right hand that Gable ducks under and follows up with a left that Gable also avoids with ease. Gable takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Gable dodges the punch combination from Hood.

That's one minute gone in the round. Gable takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Gable closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gable lands in his opponent's guard. Hood avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Hood preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Gable controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Gable working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Hood's head. Gable content to stall in guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gable loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Gable stays in close to Hood's body and controls the position. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Hood is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Gable drives through with a takedown into Hood's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Gable postures up in Hood's guard and throws a big left but Hood blocks it. Gable with a nice head shot there. Gable loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Hood keeping moving, preventing Gable from controlling successfully. Hood wants to stand up but Gable is controlling him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gable throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Hood has momentary wrist control but Gable slips an elbow through the middle. Gable throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Gable lands a couple of digs. Gable seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Gable is looking to work some ground and pound but Hood has wrist control. Gable stops Hood from standing up.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Robin Hood dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Gable changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hood tries to avoid it but Gable manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hood to the ground. Hood escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A combination from Hood does no damage. Hood swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hood throws a right and a left that Gable avoids nicely. Gable showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hood.
Gable drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Gable throwing strikes but missing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hood wants to get back to his feet but Gable is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Hood keeping full guard, as Gable tries to pass.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gable postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Hood wants to stand up but Gable is controlling him. Gable trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Gable scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Gable prevents Hood from getting back to his feet. Gable throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hood works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Gable throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Hood throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Gable counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hood won't be happy with that.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gable creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hood sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Gable lands a decent elbow from side control. Gable trying to control the position but Hood is working away. Hood avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Gable. Dan Gable overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gable takes a little break here. Hood wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Hood taking a bit of punishment here - Gable scoring with strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hood takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Gable misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Gable scoring with punches and elbows. Gable working the ground and pound from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hood defending against the ground and pound. Gable postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Gable trying to control the position but Hood is working away. Gable scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Hood to see if he's OK. Gable landing strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gable creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Hood is rocked! Gable working the body and head with strikes. Hood is still in real trouble! Can Gable finish him? Gable scores with punches from side control. Hood is breathing heavily. Hood is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Gable working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Gable scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Hood is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Gable can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
