Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Fadden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Opium Opiate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fadden comes to the cage accompanied by I Will Be Heard by HATEBREED. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Fadden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Opium Opiate!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Eddie Farnsworth and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Opiate darts in and clinches Fadden up against the cage.
Opiate avoiding damage as Fadden throws knees to the body.
Opiate lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Opiate on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Fadden tries to pull guard but Opiate holds him up against the cage and eventually Fadden drops back down to his feet.
Fadden is trying to maintain a safe position but Opiate gets an underhook and turns Fadden into the cage.
Opiate prevents a body shot from Fadden.
Fadden blocks an elbow strike.
Opiate lands an elbow inside.
Opiate goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Opiate jumps guard.
Fadden is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Fadden throws a big right hand that misses.
Opiate not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Fadden controlling from the top position.

Fadden got a little sloppy there for a moment and Opiate has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fadden has managed to get both his arms back between Opiate's legs - danger averted.

Fadden stands up from Opiate's guard - Fadden perhaps looking for a knockout.

No joy there for Fadden, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

No luck for Fadden with that takedown attempt.

Opiate throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Fadden swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Opiate doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Opiate swings wildly with an uppercut but Fadden uses good head movement to avoid it.
Opiate lands a right hand.

Fadden can't find room to land a body shot as Opiate controls the action.

Fadden can't get the takedown.
Fadden takes an elbow to the forehead.
Fadden fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Fadden tries for a takedown but Opiate manages to get underhooks.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fadden tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Opiate misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Opiate trying to stall but Fadden improves his position.
Opiate scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Fadden throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Fadden missing with knees to the body.
Fadden tries to pull guard but Opiate holds him up against the cage and eventually Fadden drops back down to his feet.
Opiate is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Fadden is keeping busy.
Opiate prevents the takedown attempt.
Fadden tries for a takedown. No joy.
Fadden fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Opiate prevents the takedown attempt.
Opiate lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Fadden decides to pull guard.
Opiate is looking to stand up but Fadden won't let him.

Fadden is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Opiate is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Fadden keeping moving, preventing Opiate from controlling successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Opiate pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Fadden is keeping the position for now.
Opiate trying to control the position from guard on top but Fadden is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Fadden on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Fadden tries to get out of the position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Opium Opiate wasn't active enough on the ground.
A bone on bone clash there as Opiate blocks the leg kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Opiate throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Opiate lands with a cross.
Fadden is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Fadden circles away from the clinch attempt.
Fadden scores with a punch to the head.
Opiate uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fadden.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Opium Opiate will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Fadden thuds a left hand into Opiate's body.
Opiate connects with a looping right hand.
Opiate scoring well with a low kick there.
Opiate just misses with a punch to the body.
Opiate tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fadden paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Fadden closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Fadden passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Opiate!
Opiate can't escape the position.
Opiate is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Fadden sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Fadden cracks Opiate with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fadden connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Opiate is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fadden looking to control and managing it successfully.
BOOM! Fadden connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Fadden lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Fadden cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Fadden controlling the position easily from mount.
John Fadden overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Fadden here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
A nice elbow there by Fadden.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Fadden is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Opiate is forced to tap! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). John Fadden!
Our winner, John Fadden, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
