Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, John Spackman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, ben farrier!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
farrier misses with a two punch combination.
Spackman fails with a takedown attempt.
Spackman shoots in but farrier avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Spackman throws a low kick, looking for farrier's leg but farrier calmly moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Spackman changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. farrier looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Spackman tries for a kimura but farrier is defending well.
farrier takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
farrier manages to work his way to half guard, despite Spackman's best efforts.
Spackman content to control rather than advance.
Spackman trying to pass the guard but farrier defending well.
Spackman wants to lay and pray for a moment but farrier keeps working.
Spackman tries to pass the half guard into mount. farrier knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Spackman thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed farrier's head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
farrier is staying active underneath Spackman, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Spackman wants to free his trapped foot but farrier is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Spackman wants to take a breather but farrier is having none of it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
farrier shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Spackman counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Spackman missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Spackman seems to be working for a kimura but farrier defends the submission attempt.
Spackman is breathing heavily.
farrier trying to control from the bottom.

farrier is trying to stand.
farrier works his way to full guard. Good work.
Spackman passes farrier's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Spackman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so farrier is just riding it out for now. Spackman eventually gives up the hold.
farrier looks like he's trying to stand up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Spackman is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

farrier has one foot on Spackman's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
farrier darts in trying to clinch

and Spackman counters with a shoot takedown. farrier fights it but they end up in guard.
Spackman pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. farrier is keeping the position for now.
farrier keeping moving, preventing Spackman from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Spackman dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


farrier shoots and misses

and Spackman counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Spackman.
Spackman has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. farrier is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
farrier is looking to break free of the clinch but Spackman has double underhooks.

farrier breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
John Spackman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Spackman closes this distance looking for a takedown but farrier circles away.
farrier looks to clinch

and Spackman counters with a nice double leg into side control. farrier won't be happy with that.
farrier is not content to let Spackman control the position.
Spackman prevents farrier from escaping the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.

farrier tries to escape back to his feet but Spackman has kept hold of him... Oh, now he's got farrier's back and is looking for the choke... Is it? Is it sunk in? YES! farrier is tapping! Spackman saw the opportunity and took it - ruthless!
