Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tonton Hong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Ruden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hong's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Hong Entrance Song. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tonton Hong!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joe Ruden!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, John Roberts and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hong misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hong connects with a leg kick. Ruden looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Tonton Hong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hong misses with a low kick as Ruden jumps back.
Ruden lands a right hook to the body.
Hong takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Hong.
Ruden keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hong.
A head kick misses from Hong.
Hong misses with a low kick.
Hong jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Hong tries to work over Ruden's front leg with a kick but Ruden checks it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hong cracks Ruden with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Hong looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Hong misses with a straight right.
Hong slips under a jab from Ruden.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hong swings away with a body shot that misses
and Ruden counters with an inside leg kick.
Ruden finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Hong ducks right into an uppercut from Ruden.
Ruden moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Hong lands with a thumping leg kick.
Ruden throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A big left from Hong misses.
A good leg kick by Hong.
Hong lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ruden darts in looking for a takedown but Hong gets double underhooks and turns Ruden into the cage.
Ruden looks winded!
Ruden swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Hong blocking some punches.
Hong tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Ruden's elbow.
Ruden goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hong prevents it.
Hong working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hong misses with a punch on the inside.
Ruden wants to stall.
Hong tries a body shot but Ruden blocks it.
Still in the clinch, Hong scores with a nice short uppercut.
Hong presses Ruden against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Hong tries to throw a body punch but Ruden avoids it by throwing Hong back against the cage.
Hong fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Hong misses with a punch to the body.

Ruden works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Ruden looking to sit in guard and control but Hong gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Hong tries to free his leg and advance position but Ruden is retaining full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Ruden looking for a guillotine here but Hong defends easily.
Hong controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Ruden keeping full guard, as Hong tries to pass.
Hong slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Hong in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hong controlling from the top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Tonton Hong just wasn't active enough.
Hong loads up on a big right hand but Ruden slips the punch.

Hong gets caught flat footed, as Ruden shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Hong utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Hong keeping moving, preventing Ruden from controlling successfully.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ruden might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hong haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ruden accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tonton Hong dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Ruden throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hong misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ruden.
Hong chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Ruden can pounce on him.
Hong lands a jab to Ruden's midsection.
Hong avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hong does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Hong gets cracked there but stands up to it.
A jab from Hong does it's job there.


It looks like Joe Ruden has been cut.
Ruden checks the leg kick.
Ruden walks into a jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hong throws a nice outside leg kick.
A big right from Hong misses.
Ruden keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hong.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hong cracks a nice hook into Ruden's ribs.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Hong - that will leave a mark!
Ruden tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hong sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ruden somewhat.
Ruden is breathing heavily.
Ruden is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hong.
Hong connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Ruden misses with a hook. Hong ducked under it nicely.
A good leg kick by Hong.
Hong fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Ruden has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nice defenses there by Ruden.
Hong paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Hong is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ruden.
Ruden ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hong misses with an uppercut.
Ruden moves out of range of the leg kick from Hong.
Ruden misses with a wild body shot.
Hong moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Whack! Hong lands a heavy head kick that drops Ruden. The ref tackles Hong to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Ruden was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Tonton Hong!
Tonton Hong retains his light heavyweight title!
Tonton Hong bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
