PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fred Collins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sarkis Terteryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Terteryan has chosen Röyksopp - The Fear as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 34 - 29 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fred Collins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 32 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sarkis Terteryan!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Terteryan displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Collins throws out the jab.
Terteryan on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.


It looks like Sarkis Terteryan has been cut.
Collins throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Collins throws a looping overhand right but Terteryan ducks down to avoid it.
Collins lands a glancing blow to the side of Terteryan's head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Terteryan has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Collins finds it's way round the side to connect with Terteryan's head.
Collins throws out a loose jab but Terteryan uses good head movement to avoid it.
Collins scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Terteryan doesn't seem bothered though.
Terteryan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Collins manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Terteryan looks to score with a jab to the body but Collins is just out of range.

Collins shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Collins was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Terteryan is trying to improve his position.
Collins misses with the ground and pound.
Collins fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Terteryan tries to bench press Collins off him but Collins keeps the position.
Collins scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Terteryan to see if he's OK.
Terteryan gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Collins is looking to take a break and control but Terteryan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Collins thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Collins wants to lay and pray for a moment but Terteryan keeps working.
Terteryan is trying to control but can't.
Collins is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Terteryan reverses the position - he's now on top in Collins's guard.
Terteryan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Collins has his feet on Terteryan's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Collins misses with a two punch combination.

Terteryan dives in and scores a takedown into Collins's guard.

Terteryan gets to his feet - Collins follows without any prompting.
Fred Collins is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Terteryan tries to close the distance and clinch but Collins swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Terteryan pushes Collins away with a front kick.
Collins is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Terteryan feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Collins crashing to the mat! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Sarkis Terteryan!
Sarkis Terteryan gave a mention to Das Labor in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
