PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bo Bice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dark Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bice's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Witness - Bo Bice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bo Bice!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dark Hunter!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunter closes the distance looking to clinch

and Bice counters with a single leg into guard. Hunter didn't expect that.
Bice working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Bice drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hunter manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bice has Hunter in his guard.

Bice working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Hunter has passed into half guard!
Hunter wants to stand but Bice has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Bice is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hunter pulls his head out easily.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Hunter's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Hunter has the hooks in. Bice is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Bice breaks Hunter's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Hunter is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Bice throwing strikes but missing.

Bice thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Bice throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Bice postures up in Hunter's guard and throws a big left but Hunter blocks it.
Hunter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bice is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Bice is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hunter is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hunter has escaped and now he's on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bice has his foot on Hunter's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hunter works his way back into a safe position though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Hunter avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bice is on top in guard.
Bice postures up in Hunter's guard and throws a big left but Hunter blocks it.
Bice lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hunter can do anything to dispel that myth.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bo Bice dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Bice circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bice with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Hunter tries to clinch but Bice moves away

and Bice counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Bice has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bice throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Bice is trying for a kimura here. Hunter looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Bice wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Bo Bice!
Post fight, Bo Bice stared into the camera and said 'I had a huge management problem during my preparation for my title fight at SFC. It cost me everything I had for the fight and that's why I lost so silly. I'm determined and will never lose again due to that horrible management problem. I'm still the best guy out there.'.
