Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kent Roger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Kent Roger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike Hunt!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Sam Margolis and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunt shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Roger counters with a good low kick that Hunt was not able to check.
We've been hearing reports that Roger has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
A head kick from Roger lands but Hunt takes it in his stride.


It looks like Mike Hunt has been cut.
Roger attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Roger leaves Hunt with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Hunt closes this distance looking for a takedown but Roger circles away.
Kent Roger has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Hunt.
Hunt shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Roger pinned against the cage. Roger gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Roger tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Roger has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Hunt regains half guard there - taking advantage of Roger's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Roger is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Hunt is looking to escape.
Roger not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Roger is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hunt is just riding it out for now. Roger eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Roger works his way into side control.

Roger is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hunt has escaped the position, nice work there.

Roger is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hunt knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Roger scores with a couple of short elbows.

Hunt is trying to control Roger's posture but Roger avoids it.

Roger has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Roger throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Roger misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hunt shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Roger as he jumps to the side.
Hunt misses with an uppercut. Roger saw that one coming.
Hunt walks into a jab.
Roger tries a head kick but it misses.

Roger shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Hunt trying to control from the bottom.
Hunt is trying to stand back up but Roger is controlling him

Roger is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hunt sees it coming and defends easily.
Roger lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Roger with the ground and pound but Hunt uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Roger throws an elbow that misses. Hunt uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Roger's guard. Nice move by Hunt!
Hunt passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Roger has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hunt grinds an elbow into Roger's temple.
Roger tries to bench press Hunt off him but Hunt keeps the position.
Roger regains half guard.
Roger gets back to full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Hunt got a little sloppy there for a moment and Roger has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hunt has managed to get both his arms back between Roger's legs - danger averted.

Roger had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hunt defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kent Roger dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Mike Hunt's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Hunt keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Hunt dives in for a single leg takedown but Roger sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Roger using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Hunt has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Roger is trying to drag Hunt to the mat but Hunt just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Roger tries to break free but Hunt pushes him back against the cage.
Roger wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Roger is trying to force a seperation but Hunt has the dominant position.
Roger wants to get back to striking at distance but Hunt won't allow it.
Roger is looking to break free of the clinch but Hunt has double underhooks.
Roger wants to break free but Hunt has control.

Hunt jumps into guard, dragging Roger to the mat.
Roger trying to control but Hunt is working from the bottom.
Hunt has Roger pulled in close to control his posture.
Roger pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hunt is keeping the position for now.

Roger drops back looking for a leg! Hunt is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hunt manages to kick Roger off! Roger jumps back into Hunt's guard.

Roger prevents Hunt from getting back to his feet.
Hunt is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Roger trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Roger tries to free his leg and advance position but Hunt is retaining full guard.

Hunt looking for a triangle here. Roger is fighting it but it looks tight! Hunt pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Roger is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Mike Hunt!
