Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Omar Sharp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Vip (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Omar Sharp has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Omar Sharp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Vip!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Edson Gomes and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vip feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Vip scoring with punches to the head and body.
Sharp bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vip's guard.
Vip wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Vip is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sharp is aware though and is defending well.

John Vip has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
An inside leg kick lands from Sharp.
Vip shoots in for a takedown but Sharp shows good takedown defense.
Vip looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Vip moves into range and clinches up with Sharp.

Vip drags the fight down to the ground.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sharp accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Vip is trying to keep Sharp in close.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Sharp postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Vip is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. John Vip was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Vip fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sharp, pushing him back against the cage.

Vip has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Sharp clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Sharp trying to get back to his feet but Vip is in full control for now.
Vip has the hooks in. Sharp is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Vip lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Sharp.

Vip is trying to stick to Sharp's back but Sharp is turning into Vip. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Vip's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Sharp.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sharp in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Vip is controlling Sharp's posture.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Vip pulls Sharp in close to prevent any damage.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. John Vip wasn't active enough on the ground.
Vip closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sharp circles away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Vip scores with a takedown into Sharp's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Vip dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Vip shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Vip showed some decent athleticism there.
Sharp tries to roll over but Vip keeps him under control.
Sharp regains full guard. Nicely done.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sharp wants to sweep but no luck.
Vip is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Vip lands a couple of digs.
Sharp will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Vip with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.


Sharp is rocked!
Vip makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Oh Sharp is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Vip loads up on a big left hand. Sharp felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Vip looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Sharp can't hide his disappointment, as Vip celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Vip!
