Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Waylon Barrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Floyd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Floyd will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Waylon Barrera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Floyd!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Eddie Farnsworth and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Floyd fails in his attempt to clinch.
Floyd fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Barrera avoids it really well and circles away.

Barrera fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Floyd, pushing him back against the cage.
Barrera really is a fat lump.
Floyd trying to stall but Barrera improves his position.
Barrera jumps guard but Floyd turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Floyd is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Floyd has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Barrera avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Barrera works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Barrera is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Barrera's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Waylon Barrera just wasn't active enough.

Floyd gets a double leg takedown into Barrera's guard.

Floyd avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Barrera working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Floyd doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Floyd manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Barrera is looking for a triangle but Floyd pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Barrera manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Barrera keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Floyd's efforts to push away.

A short right hand to the side of the head by Floyd.
Barrera is trying to maintain a safe position but Floyd gets an underhook and turns Barrera into the cage.
Floyd tries to pull guard but Barrera forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Waylon Barrera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Floyd.
Floyd changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Barrera fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Floyd shoots in for a double leg but Barrera sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Barrera counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Barrera.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Barrera's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Floyd is trying to control the position but Barrera postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. James Floyd wasn't active enough on the ground.
Floyd wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Waylon Barrera dominated that round.
That's time! Barrera's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Floyd tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Floyd shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Barrera wants to improve his position but Floyd is controlling well.
Floyd prevents Barrera from standing back up.
Floyd tries to pass the half guard into mount. Barrera knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Floyd passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Barrera!
Floyd really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barrera. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Floyd lands with some strikes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Floyd breaks from Barrera's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Barrera manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Barrera keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Barrera is trying to control but Floyd manages to pass to mount!
Floyd trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Barrera wants to try and get back to his feet.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Floyd! Barrera is hurt baaadly! Floyd is firing away with more strikes - Barrera is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Floyd!
