Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Coleston! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cedric Jackson! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coleston fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Coleston throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jackson's waist but Jackson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Coleston off to one side. Jackson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Coleston makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Jackson really felt that one! Coleston really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Jackson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Coleston sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Jackson rushes Coleston and presses him up against the cage. Jackson is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Coleston is defending well. Mike Coleston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cedric Jackson. Coleston tries to throw a body punch but Jackson avoids it by throwing Coleston back against the cage. Coleston breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jackson looks for a takedown but Coleston sprawls well. Jackson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jackson wants it to stay on the feet. Jackson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Coleston tries to avoid it but Jackson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Coleston to the ground. Coleston escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Coleston paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson tries to clinch but fails miserably and Coleston moves into the clinch. Coleston lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Coleston stands up out of the half guard. Coleston takes one on the button. Jackson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Coleston paws at him with a jab and circles away. Coleston is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jackson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Coleston lands a big head kick that sends Jackson tumbling to the mat! Coleston takes a step backwards and waves Jackson back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Jackson is rocked!
It looks like Cedric Jackson has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jackson shoots in for a takedown but Coleston shows good takedown defense. Jackson is still on wobbly legs! Can Coleston finish him? Coleston gets a big slam - oh, Jackson is out! Jackson is out! That's a nasty KO!
