The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Konrad throws a series of punches but Sugidono moves out of range.

Konrad drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Konrad wants to control but Sugidono is keeping him busy.
Sugidono sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Sugidono looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Sugidono is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Konrad lands strikes from half guard.
Sugidono wants to control but Konrad passes into side.
Konrad tries to move into full mount but can't pass Sugidono's legs.
Sugidono trying to control but Konrad flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!

Konrad is persistently looking for the submission but Sugidono is defending it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Konrad is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Sugidono defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Konrad is trying to stick to Sugidono's back but Sugidono is turning into Konrad. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Konrad's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Sugidono.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sugidono has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Sugidono is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Sugidono extends the arm and Konrad is forced to tap!
