Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nino Marques (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Austin Akey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Nino Marques has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nino Marques! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Austin Akey! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marques tries for a takedown but Akey sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Marques shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Akey as he avoids it easily. Marques shoots in for a double leg but Akey sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nino Marques. That's going to take a lot out of him. Marques throws a head kick that Akey semi-blocks.
It looks like Austin Akey has been cut. Akey moves into range and clinches up with Marques. Marques has had enough of the clinch but Akey keeps him there for the moment. Marques is looking to break free of the clinch but Akey has double underhooks. Marques tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Akey smiles and moves away.
Marques shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Marques was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Marques tries to control but Akey wriggling away. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Marques cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Marques thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marques putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Akey is looking to get to half guard. Akey looks gassed! Akey is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Akey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marques. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Marques can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Akey is looking to escape. Akey tries to reverse the position but Marques maintains control. Marques is looking to stand but Marques has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Akey is trying desperately to improve position. The referee warns Akey that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Marques prevents Akey from getting the reversal. Marques with the ground and pound from mount. Marques is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Akey is forced to tap! Great finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Nino Marques!
