Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mscibor Olszewicz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luis Costa! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Albert Achterberg and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Olszewicz throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Olszewicz avoids the head kick by Costa.
Costa uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Olszewicz has time to react. Costa feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Olszewicz's calf. Costa looks to score with a jab to the body but Olszewicz is just out of range. Costa's corner calls for a 1-2. Costa obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Costa scores with a shot to the body.
Olszewicz is looking to slow Costa down with leg kicks. Mscibor Olszewicz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Olszewicz throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Costa ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Olszewicz moves away. Olszewicz throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Olszewicz on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Costa is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Costa scores with a punch to the head. Olszewicz seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Olszewicz tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Costa manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Costa moves out of range of the body kick from Olszewicz.
Olszewicz darts in and clinches Costa up against the cage. Costa managing to block the knees to the body from Olszewicz.
Olszewicz tries to land knees in the clinch but Costa avoids the damage to the body. A short right from Costa. Olszewicz is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Costa is defending well for now. Olszewicz tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Olszewicz comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Olszewicz is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Costa is defending well for now. Costa is trying to maintain a safe position but Olszewicz gets an underhook and turns Costa into the cage. Costa makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Costa looking to slow down the pace here. Costa lands a right hand. Olszewicz with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Costa lands with a short shot to the head. Costa throws a punch but it's blocked by Olszewicz. A head punch on the inside from Costa fails to land. Costa escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Costa lands a leg kick that knocks Olszewicz off balance momentarily. Olszewicz gets in close and instigates a clinch. Costa has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Olszewicz uses from the top position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Costa keeping moving, preventing Olszewicz from controlling successfully. Olszewicz is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Olszewicz is sitting in close to Costa's body. Costa has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Olszewicz is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Olszewicz is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Costa.
