Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Orion Cook! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Jamal Jordan! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, John Roberts and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cook gets tackled into the cage by Jordan. Jordan maintains the clinch. Jordan lands on the inside with an uppercut. Jordan lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Cook lands a hook that snaps the head of Jordan backwards. Cook tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jordan just stands there and leans against the cage. I was talking to Cook's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Cook misses with a short punch on the inside. Cook swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Jordan lands an elbow inside that Cook shrugs off. Cook scores with a shot to the side of Jordan's head. Jordan lands a damaging elbow. Cook lands a hook to the side of the head. Jordan missing with knees to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action! Cook is looking for a takedown. Cook working aggressively here.
Jordan lands with a left to the head. Jordan lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Jordan creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Cook's defenses. Jordan missing with knees to the body.

Jordan prevents a body shot from Cook. Cook has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jordan uses from the top position. Jordan stays in close to Cook's body and controls the position. Cook is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jordan manages to get to full guard.
Jordan told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Jordan wants to sweep but no luck. Cook working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jordan's head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cook scoring with some ground and pound. Cook with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Jordan is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Cook postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Cook thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Cook scores with a decent looking elbow strike. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jordan looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cook in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Jordan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cook is one step ahead there. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Cook content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Cook stands up over Jordan, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Cook cracks Jordan with a solid left hand. Cook stops Jordan from standing up. Jordan is trying to control the position but Cook postures up. Jordan managing to control the position. Cook throwing strikes but missing. Cook missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cook pushes down on Jordan's leg and manages to get into half guard. Cook lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Jordan tries to roll over but Cook keeps him under control. Jordan avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Cook. Jordan wants to get back to full guard. Cook is working for a kimura but Jordan is defending it quite comfortably.
Jordan wants to get back to his feet. Jordan is looking to improve his position.
Cook is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Cook is thwarting Jordan's attempts to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jordan looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Jordan taking some punishment here, with Cook in his half guard. Cook thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Cook thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jordan's head. Jordan looks like he's trying to stand up.

Cook seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Cook wants to free his trapped foot but Jordan is holding on for dear life with his legs. Cook missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Orion Cook dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Jordan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jordan misses with a shot to the body and Cook cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Jordan falls off balance throwing a combination
and Cook counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Cook keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jordan. Cook darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Jordan is rocked! Jordan throws a lazy head kick and Cook counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Cook. Jordan is still on wobbly legs! Can Cook finish him? Cook throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Jordans head. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Cook. Jordan trying to land knees to the body.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Cook. Jordan blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Jordan swings wildly with an uppercut but Cook uses good head movement to avoid it. Cook lands a big right hand that drops Jordan! The killer instinct kicks in and Cook finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Cook!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Orion Cook! A relieved looking Orion Cook thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
