Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Diego Lima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Preston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Diego Lima! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 1, fighting out of New York, Dean Preston ! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Russell Pearce and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown attempt by Preston or perhaps it was just good defense by Lima, which made it look bad. Lima throws a combination that misses and Preston counters with a nice body kick. Preston closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lima to the mat! Lima manages to get full guard. Preston slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Lima prevents Preston from improving position. Preston is looking to take a break and control but Lima is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Preston tries for a kimura but Lima is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lima defending against the ground and pound. Preston working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Lima is pushing Preston 's head away, looking to escape. Preston manages to hold on to the position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Preston creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Lima sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. An elbow from Preston crashes against the mat.

Lima really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Lima is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Preston has just dragged him back down to the mat. Preston is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lima knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Preston lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Preston is trying to get an arm triangle but Lima is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Preston goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Lima has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Preston but great work by Lima. Lima gets to mount! Preston was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Preston is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Lima gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Preston fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Lima throws a sloppy head kick and Preston moves out of range easily. Lima definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Lima closes the distance and lands a one-two. Preston tries to clinch but Lima is having none of it. Preston looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Lima misses with a two punch combination.

Preston checks a low kick from Lima. Lima throws a leg kick and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lima connects with a high kick. Preston fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Preston fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Diego Lima has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dean Preston . Preston dodges the punch combination from Lima.
Lima throws a head kick but Preston moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Diego Lima will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
A head kick misses from Preston . No luck for Preston with that takedown attempt. Lima throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Lima fails in his attempt to clinch. Lima misses with a low kick.
Lima plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Lima is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Preston can do to turn this around? Lima works Preston 's body with a nice hook. Lima closes the distance and clinches. Lima scores with a nice hook to the head. Lima tries a body shot but Preston blocks it.
Lima scores with a shot to the side of Preston 's head. Preston has Lima pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lima manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Preston drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Lima gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Diego Lima has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dean Preston . Preston has clasped his hands together around Lima's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lima is trying to buck Preston off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Preston lands an elbow. Preston is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lima has escaped the position, nice work there. Lima throws Preston to one side and escapes! Preston is looking to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lima lands a high kick!
Horrible takedown attempt by Preston or perhaps it was just good defense by Lima, which made it look bad. Diego Lima is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Preston fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Lima moves into the clinch successfully.
Preston has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Lima after a bit of a struggle. Lima lands with a short shot to the head. Preston is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Lima gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Preston is breathing heavily. Lima comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Lima is defending well against a takedown attempt. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lima is trying to stall.
Lima gets through Preston 's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Still in the clinch, Lima scores with a nice short uppercut. Preston goes for a takedown attempt but Lima pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Lima fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Preston looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lima lands with a big left! Preston is wobbled badly! Lima comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Preston to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:06 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Diego Lima!
