Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lalli Koylio! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jonqw Fray! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Eddie Farnsworth and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Koylio moves into range and clinches up with Fray. Fray struggles to land a body shot inside as Koylio controls his hands.

Fray tries a body shot but Koylio blocks it.
Koylio throws a head punch that misses. Koylio gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Fray.
Fray tries to score a body lock takedown but Koylio shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Koylio is pressed up against the cage. Fray has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Koylio down to the mat. Koylio avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Lalli Koylio has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jonqw Fray. Fray looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Koylio! Koylio managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Fray.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fray looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Koylio sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. My spies in Mello MMA inform me that Fray has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Fray has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koylio keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Fray thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Koylio's head. Fray seems to be working for a kimura but Koylio defends the submission attempt. Fray throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Fray wants to pass to mount but Koylio is defending the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Fray throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Koylio to regain full guard. Fray postures up in Koylio's guard and throws a big left but Koylio blocks it. Koylio preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Koylio avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Fray postures up in Koylio's guard and throws a big left but Koylio blocks it. Fray throws a big right hand that misses. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Fray stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Koylio swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Fray decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Koylio is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Koylio taking some punishment here, with Fray in his half guard. Fray is thwarting Koylio's attempts to control the position. Fray is looking to advance position but Koylio won't allow it. Fray seems to be working for a kimura but Koylio defends the submission attempt. Fray thows a huge punch but Koylio dodges it nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Koylio gets back to full guard.
Fray working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Koylio's head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fray throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Koylio works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Koylio has his hands on Fray's head, controlling the position. Koylio seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Koylio keeping full guard, as Fray tries to pass. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jonqw Fray dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Fray swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Koylio's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Fray connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Koylio scrambles back to his feet. Fray tries to score a power double leg takedown but Koylio sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fray somewhat. Fray tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Koylio was well out of range. Poor timing from Fray. Koylio fails with a takedown attempt. Koylio connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Fray momentarily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Fray manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Fray is trying to control. Koylio wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Koylio is trying to get back to full guard. Fray is trying to control the action in half guard but Koylio is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Fray missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Fray misses with a head shot. Koylio uses the momentum to regain guard. Fray passes Koylio's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Koylio has hold of Fray's hands but Fray slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Fray sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Koylio defending well though. Fray not landing any meaningful shots this time. Fray throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Koylio keeping control of the position. Fray is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Koylio is just riding it out for now. Fray eventually gives up the hold. Fray looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fray thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Fray seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Koylio is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
