The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Arroyo gets a takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Arroyo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ruiz defends it well.

Arroyo is looking for a kimura but Ruiz is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Arroyo to get the leverage.
Ruiz is not content to let Arroyo control the position.

Arroyo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ruiz doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Arroyo.

Arroyo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Arroyo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Arroyo wants to work for an arm triangle but Ruiz is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Arroyo seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Ruiz is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
