Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aubrey Vasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Vera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aubrey Vasquez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brandon Vera! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vasquez gets caught napping as Vera dives in and scores a takedown. Vasquez manages to retain guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Vasquez holds on and takes a little breather. Vera looking to pass the guard. Vera trying to control the position from guard on top but Vasquez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Vasquez has momentary wrist control but Vera slips an elbow through the middle. Vasquez looking to control.
Vera is looking to work some ground and pound but Vasquez has wrist control. Vasquez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vera on the ground. Vasquez throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Vasquez is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Vera defends well. Vasquez looking to control.

That's one minute gone in the round. Vera tries to free his leg and advance position but Vasquez is retaining full guard. Vera is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Vera stays in close to Vasquez's body and controls the position. Vasquez had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Vera defends it easily. Vera controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Vasquez controls Vera momentarily but Vera frees himself. Vasquez really is a fat lump. Vera loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vera throws a big elbow that misses.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Vera throws a one two combo.
It looks like Aubrey Vasquez has been cut. Vera tries to land a front kick but Vasquez steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Vasquez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Vera as he avoids it easily. Vera shoots in and gets a takedown into Vasquez's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Vasquez controls Vera momentarily but Vera frees himself. Vera content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Vera wants to control from the top but Vasquez keeps moving. Vasquez trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Vasquez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Vera lands a couple of elbows.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vera not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Vera passes Vasquez's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Vera content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Vera is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Vasquez has managed to free his arm - good work. Vasquez trying to control here.
Vasquez is doing well to control the position and prevent Vera from advancing to side control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Vasquez tries to clinch there but Vera circles away.
Vasquez looking for a takedown here - he's got it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Vera looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Vera trying to keep a closed guard but Vasquez is proving a slippery customer.

Vera scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Vasquez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Vera is working away from the top position though. Vera wants to pass the guard but Vasquez is defending well. Vera is trying to control. Vasquez wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Vera controlling the pace.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Brandon Vera wasn't active enough on the ground. Vera looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vera passes to full mount! Vera lands a nice shot to the head. Vera trying to control but Vasquez is having none of it. Vera tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Vasquez wants to control but Vera is having none of it. Vasquez is squirming around, avoiding Vera's attempts to control the action. Vasquez tries to control Vera's body but Vera pushes him off. Vasquez squirms to his side and now Vera has his back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vera gets his hands free as Vasquez looks to control. Vera struggling to land strikes to the head as Vasquez covers up. Vasquez looking very determined here, making life difficult for Vera.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vasquez showing good submission defense here.
Vasquez trying to control the action but Vera just sinks the hooks in. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Vasquez is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Brandon Vera has got the better of the ground game so far. Vera biding his time, looking for the opening.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Vera forces Vasquez back against the cage and clinches. Vera wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Vasquez has him pressed against the cage. Vasquez has picked Vera up - he's going for a ride! Vasquez dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Vasquez prevents Vera from improving his position. Vera is breathing heavily. Vera makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Vasquez avoids the body shot from Vera.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vera darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Vasquez actively working from the bottom here. Vasquez is refusing to be controlled, as Vera sits in half guard. Vasquez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Vera is working away from the top position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vera prevents Vasquez from improving his position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Vasquez wants to control but Vera is keeping busy and won't allow it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brandon Vera showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Aubrey Vasquez's cut. That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Vera gets the takedown into side control. Vera working away. Vera is looking to take a break and control but Vasquez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Vera tries to move to mount but Vasquez blocks the move with his legs. Vera wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vasquez keeps working. Vasquez is trying to control Vera's posture but Vera avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vera stands up and beckons Vasquez to his feet. Vera scores with a takedown into Vasquez's guard. Vera takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Vera trying to control the position from guard on top but Vasquez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Vasquez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Vera is looking to stand up but Vasquez won't let him.

Vasquez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Vasquez is trying to control the position but Vera postures up. Vera tries to free his leg and advance position but Vasquez is retaining full guard. Vasquez keeping moving, preventing Vera from controlling successfully. Vasquez seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Brandon Vera was stalling too much, according to the referee. Vera stuffs the takedown attempt from Vasquez. Vasquez gets slowly back to his feet. Brandon Vera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vera shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Vasquez manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Vera throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Vasquez keeping moving, preventing Vera from controlling successfully. Vera content to stall in guard here.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Vasquez tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Vera just stands there and leans against the cage. Aubrey Vasquez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Brandon Vera is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Vera manages to break the clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! Brandon Vera comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Vera has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
