Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Takahiro Jouda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gaspar Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gaspar Gomez!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Jeff Smith and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez closes the distance and clinches.

Jouda digs a right hand underneath Gomez's ribcage. Gomez let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Jouda misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Jouda goes for a takedown in the clinch but Gomez prevents it.

I was talking to Jouda's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Gomez utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Gomez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jouda feints and as Gomez raises his hands in defense, Jouda changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gomez wants to get back to his feet but Jouda is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Jouda wants to pass the guard but Gomez is keeping the position.

Jouda stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gomez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Jouda moves in looking to clinch but Gomez pushes him off.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jouda looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jouda avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gomez fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Takahiro Jouda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gaspar Gomez.
Jouda closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gomez did well to prevent Jouda getting side control.
