Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stephen Dyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guillaume Veilleux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Veilleux comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Pou Lari A. kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Stephen Dyer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Guillaume Veilleux! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Veilleux circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dyer misses with a hook. Veilleux ducked under it nicely. A left lands for Dyer. Veilleux fails with an attempt to clinch.
Veilleux tries to clinch but fails miserably and Dyer counters with a lovely straight right hand! Guillaume Veilleux seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Veilleux misses with a hook. Dyer lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Veilleux swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Dyer.
It looks like Stephen Dyer has been cut. Veilleux misses the shot to the body. Nice defenses there by Dyer. Veilleux swings for the body but Dyer moves out of range.
Veilleux misses with a straight right. Veilleux gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. A combination from Veilleux does no damage. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Veilleux ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Dyer ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Veilleux moves away. Veilleux looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Dyer connects with a jab. A jab from Dyer misses. Veilleux just misses with a punch to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dyer lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Dyer. Dyer blocks a jab. Veilleux lands a really nice looking cross but Dyer seems unphased.
Dyer takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Veilleux swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Veilleux gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Stephen Dyer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Veilleux throws a lazy head kick and Dyer counters with a left to the body. Veilleux tries to land a front kick but Dyer steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Veilleux rushes Dyer and presses him up against the cage. Veilleux misses with a short punch on the inside. Still in the clinch, Dyer scores with a nice short uppercut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Dyer swings wildly with an uppercut but Veilleux uses good head movement to avoid it. I was talking to Dyer's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Veilleux lands with a light punch inside. Dyer is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Dyer lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Dyer blocks a punch to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A short uppercut from Dyer. Veilleux just leaning against Dyer, taking a breather. Dyer lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Veilleux prevents a body shot from Dyer. Dyer is working Veilleux over against the cage. Dyer lands with a short shot to the head. A short right from Dyer on the inside. Dyer lands a hook to the side of the head. Dyer lands a left hand.
Dyer lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Veilleux backwards. A right handed body shot lands from Dyer.
A nice right hand lands inside from Dyer. Dyer softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Veilleux working aggressively here.

Dyer manages to break the clinch.
Dyer uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Veilleux.
Dyer connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Veilleux's hands. Dyer lands a jab to Veilleux's midsection. Dyer swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Veilleux. Dyer cracks Veilleux with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Dyer has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Veilleux to stand back up!
Veilleux is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A big right followed by a crushing left from Dyer knocks Veilleux out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Stephen Dyer! In his post fight interview, Stephen Dyer started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
