PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrzej Niedzwiedzki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Moonra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Niedzwiedzki comes into the arena with Nirvana - You know you're right blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andrzej Niedzwiedzki!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jacob Moonra!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Niedzwiedzki shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Niedzwiedzki showed some decent athleticism there.
Niedzwiedzki slips a nice elbow through Moonra's hands, connecting with Moonra's forehead.
Moonra wants to get back to full guard.
Niedzwiedzki thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Moonra's head.

Niedzwiedzki is keen to just control but Moonra is a slippery customer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Moonra avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Niedzwiedzki.

Niedzwiedzki throwing shots but Moonra is blocking nicely.
Niedzwiedzki seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Moonra does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Niedzwiedzki misses with a head shot. Moonra uses the momentum to regain guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Niedzwiedzki pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
We've been hearing reports that Niedzwiedzki has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Niedzwiedzki throws a head kick that misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Moonra uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.


It looks like Andrzej Niedzwiedzki has been cut.
Moonra gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Niedzwiedzki lands a nice hook to Moonra's body. Moonra takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Niedzwiedzki displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Moonra throws out the jab.
Niedzwiedzki fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Moonra has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Moonra throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Niedzwiedzki lands a nice shot that snaps Moonra's head back.
The fighters circling - Moonra throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

and Niedzwiedzki counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Niedzwiedzki.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Moonra bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Niedzwiedzki's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Moonra tests Niedzwiedzki's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Moonra lands a big uppercut and Niedzwiedzki crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Niedzwiedzki looks OK. Moonra waves Niedzwiedzki back to his feet!
Moonra throws an overhand right that drops Niedzwiedzki like a sack of potatoes! Moonra dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jacob Moonra!

A very excited looking Jacob Moonra made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
In defeat, Andrzej Niedzwiedzki stepped up to the mic, saying 'Congratulations to Cees, he beats me in our trilogy. I must think now what to do with my career.'.
