Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Taza Boyd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bug Spit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spit comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Human Insecticide kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The key to victory for Taza Boyd has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spit closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Spit keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Spit tries to pass to full mount but Boyd defends it.
Spit missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Spit sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Boyd defending well though.
Spit seems to be working for a kimura but Boyd defends the submission attempt.
Spit looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Boyd with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Boyd throws a series of punches but Spit moves out of range.

Spit has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Boyd can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We've been hearing good reports from Boyd's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

No joy there for Boyd, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Spit counters with a body kick that stops Boyd in his tracks momentarily.
Boyd darts in looking for a takedown but Spit gets double underhooks and turns Boyd into the cage.
Spit has Boyd pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Boyd manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Spit is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Boyd is aware though and is defending well.
Spit controls Boyd momentarily but Boyd frees himself.
Spit might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Boyd haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Spit has control of Boyd's left arm, preventing Boyd from doing any damage.
Bug Spit has got the better of the ground game so far.
Boyd drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Spit manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Boyd has Spit in his guard.
Spit wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Boyd's closed guard. He's half up but Boyd has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Boyd pivots and extends the arm, Spit falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Boyd! Well done that man!
