Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Artemis Hanborno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gray Hawkes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hawkes has chosen Not Gonna Die as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawkes instigates a clinch.

Hanborno throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Hawkess head.

Hawkes doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Hanborno tries to close the distance and clinch but Hawkes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Hanborno wants to break free but Hawkes has control.

Hawkes is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hawkes uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hanborno.
Hawkes shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hanborno pinned against the cage. Hanborno gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Hawkes tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hanborno defends well and Hawkes ends up having to push Hanborno into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

I was talking to Hanborno's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Hawkes working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hawkes is looking to work some ground and pound but Hanborno has wrist control.

Hanborno plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops Hawkes to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! Hawkes just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!
