With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stan Sherk!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sherk throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Sung Joo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Sherk moves into the clinch.
Sherk works on Sung Joo's body with a couple of short punches.
Sung Joo's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Sherk misses with a body punch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Sherk.
Sung Joo stalling in the clinch but Sherk improves position.
Sung Joo is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Sherk to keep the fight standing.

Sherk stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sherk wants it to stay on the feet.

Sherk fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sung Joo, pushing him back against the cage.
Sung Joo tries to pull guard but Sherk holds him up against the cage and eventually Sung Joo drops back down to his feet.
Sung Joo is breathing heavily.
Sung Joo tries a body shot but Sherk blocks it.

Sherk breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sherk looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Sung Joo moves into the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sung Joo fails to pull guard.
Sherk struggles to land a body shot inside as Sung Joo controls his hands.
Sherk pushes Sung Joo back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Sherk breaks from the clinch.

Sherk closes the distance and clinches.
Sung Joo is trying to stall.
Sherk tries a body shot but Sung Joo blocks it.

Sherk breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sherk swinging wildly here.

Sherk moves into range and clinches up with Sung Joo.
Sung Joo tries to pull guard but Sherk holds him up against the cage and eventually Sung Joo drops back down to his feet.

Sung Joo is trying to pull guard but Sherk has him pressed against the cage.
Sherk tries a body shot but Sung Joo blocks it.

Sherk breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sherk fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sung Joo shoots and misses
and Sherk counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Sherk gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Sung Joo shoots in for a double leg but Sherk sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Sherk drops Sung Joo with a beautiful combination! Sung Joo stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Sherk is looking for the KO!


Sung Joo is rocked!


It looks like Kim Sung Joo has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Sherk instigates a clinch.
Oh Sung Joo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sherk lands a nice shot to the body.

Sherk lands a body punch.
A body shot lands from Sherk.

Sherk's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sung Joo seems to have got his legs back now.

Sherk moves into the clinch.
Sherk wants to break the clinch but can't.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Sung Joo is trying to drag Sherk to the mat but Sherk just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Sung Joo is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Sherk to keep the fight standing.
Sung Joo jumps guard but Sherk stands there with Sung Joo around his waist. Sung Joo gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Sung Joo looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Sherk digs a right hand into Sung Joo's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Sung Joo's gas tank.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Sung Joo. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Sung Joo loses concentration momentarily and Sherk pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Sung Joo crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Sherk finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Stan Sherk!
After winning the bout, Stan Sherk thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
