Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Dale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jerry Dale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chris Martin!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Thiago Cunha and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Martin shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Dale could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Martin looks to land a strike but Dale avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Martin missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Martin landing with the ground and pound.
Martin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dale works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Martin pushes down on Dale's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Martin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dale is just riding it out for now. Martin eventually gives up the hold.
Martin lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Martin is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Dale has managed to free his arm - good work.

Martin seems to be working for a kimura but Dale defends the submission attempt.
Martin throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Martin is working for a kimura here but Dale manages to reverse the position and he's now in Martin's guard.
Martin wants to get back to his feet but Dale is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Dale is looking to stand up but Martin won't let him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Martin is on top in guard.
Martin lands a couple of digs.

Martin postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Dale is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Martin, into his guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dale stops Martin from standing up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dale is looking to work some ground and pound but Martin has wrist control.
Dale postures up in Martin's guard and throws a big left but Martin blocks it.
Martin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Dale would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Martin doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Martin is trying to control the position but Dale postures up.
Dale wants to stand but Martin has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Martin is looking for a triangle but Dale pushes his legs off easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dale stopping the sweep attempt from Martin.
Dale might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Martin has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Dale is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Dale tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Martin gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Dale regains guard.

Martin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Dale manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Martin has Dale in his guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Martin wants to stand but Dale is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Martin dominated that round.
That's time! Dale's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Dale shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Martin sprawls well. Martin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dale gets slowly back to his feet.

Martin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dale's guard.
Martin is looking to work some ground and pound but Dale has wrist control.
Martin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dale works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Martin lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Martin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Martin throws a big elbow that misses.
Martin content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Dale working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Martin.
Martin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Martin distracts Dale with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Martin lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Martin postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Martin sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Dale's guard.

Martin seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Dale is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Chris Martin!
Chris Martin bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
