PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tim Rabilla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guss Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Guss Steel told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tim Rabilla! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Guss Steel! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Chris Saunders and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steel slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
It looks like Tim Rabilla has been cut. Rabilla just misses with a punch to the body.
Rabilla could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Steel tries to move into range but Rabilla moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
It looks like Guss Steel has been cut. Rabilla throws a body punch but Steel moves out of range. Rabilla will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Steel closes the distance and clinches up with Rabilla, looking for a takedown. Steel pushes Rabilla against the cage but Rabilla circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Steel fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Steel showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rabilla.
Rabilla misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Steel.
Rabilla throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rabilla scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Steel uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rabilla. Steel clobbers Rabilla with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rabilla blocks a jab. Steel waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Rabilla. Rabilla fails to land the takedown. Steel throws a hook to the side of Rabilla's head but Rabilla sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Steel lands with a cross. A jab lands there for Rabilla. Steel drops Rabilla with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Rabilla looks back up at him and smiles so Steel waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Rabilla throws a left and a right that both miss
and Steel counters with a lovely straight right hand! Rabilla is breathing heavily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rabilla needs to keep his hands up - Steel had a free shot at his head there.
Rabilla is rocked! Steel throws a looping overhand right but Rabilla ducks down to avoid it. A jab from Steel misses. Rabilla gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Steel gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Rabilla is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Guss Steel!
