Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dimitri Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amrit Singh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Emelianenko might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Era - The Mass. Dimitri Emelianenko has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Dimitri Emelianenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Amrit Singh!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Colin Fotheringham and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Singh shoots in for a takedown but Emelianenko shows good takedown defense.

Singh tries to keep at a distance but Emelianenko has taken the fight into the clinch.

Singh pulls guard effortlessly.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Singh is on top in guard.

Emelianenko wants to sweep here but Singh controlling him for the moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Singh creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Emelianenko sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Singh wants to lay and pray for a moment but Emelianenko keeps working.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Singh scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Emelianenko shoots for a double leg takedown but Singh sprawls well. He's pushed Emelianenko's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Emelianenko lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.


It looks like Amrit Singh has been cut.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Singh manages to pull guard.
Emelianenko knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Singh on the ground.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Singh wants to stand and escape but Emelianenko is having none of it.

Singh might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Emelianenko kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Emelianenko is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Singh is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dimitri Emelianenko will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Amrit Singh's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Singh connects with a solid leg kick.
Emelianenko throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Singh counters with a low kick, right behind Emelianenko 's knee.
Singh stalks Emelianenko and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Emelianenko's face. Emelianenko staggers backwards, shaken.
Dimitri Emelianenko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Emelianenko avoids a punch combination nicely.
Emelianenko closes this distance looking for a takedown but Singh circles away.

Singh has his foot on Emelianenko's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Emelianenko works his way back into a safe position though.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Emelianenko closes the distance and clinches up with Singh, looking for a takedown. Emelianenko pushes Singh against the cage but Singh circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dimitri Emelianenko. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Singh changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Emelianenko tries to avoid it but Singh manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Emelianenko to the ground. Emelianenko escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Singh feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Emelianenko shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Singh's guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Emelianenko, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
