Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kees Flodder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith has chosen MGK - Wild Boy ft. Waka Flocka Flame as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kees Flodder!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jimmy Smith!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good standup being displayed there by Flodder as he connects with a hook.
Kees Flodder seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith shoots in for a takedown but Flodder shows good takedown defense.
Flodder looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Flodder swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Smith counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Smith throws a head kick that misses.
Flodder lands with a hook. Smith tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Flodder throws a nice looking combination but Smith bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smith shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Flodder but Flodder pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Flodder has hold of Smith's hands but Smith slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Flodder is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Vicious Striking, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up but Flodder swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Flodder displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Smith throws out the jab.
Smith is trying hard to land a takedown here. Flodder sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Smith avoids a punch combination nicely.
The crowd cheers as Flodder lands an impressive looking overhand right. Smith doesn't seem phased though.

Smith uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Flodder.

Flodder lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Smith circles away quickly and effectively.
Smith throws an overhand right that lands on Flodder's shoulder, as Flodder tries to avoid the shot.
Flodder throws a hook but Smith blocks it.
Smith takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Flodder rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Smith moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Flodder gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Smith to score an easy takedown into full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Flodder has his foot on Smith's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Smith works his way back into a safe position though.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Horrible takedown attempt by Smith or perhaps it was just good defense by Flodder, which made it look bad.
Flodder throws a right and a left that Smith avoids nicely.

Smith closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Flodder is trying to stand back up but Smith is controlling him

Smith lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Smith tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Smith looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Flodder covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

Jimmy Smith is the new bantamweight champion!
Jimmy Smith decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
