PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yoshido Nakamara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeffrey Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miller comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Killers kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshido Nakamara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Jeffrey Miller!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Fujiwara and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller jabs at Nakamara's body.
Miller throws a head kick that misses.
Miller lands a jab to Nakamara's midsection.
Miller moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Nakamara closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Nakamara prevents Miller from improving his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nakamara is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Miller has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Nakamara wants to work for an arm triangle but Miller is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Miller tries to roll over but Nakamara keeps him under control.

Nakamara is trying to work for a kimura but Miller is defending well.

Nakamara is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Miller sees it coming and defends easily.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Miller is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Nakamara has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Nakamara is trying to work for a kimura but Miller is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Miller has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nakamara is working away from the top position though.
Miller regains full guard. Nicely done.
Miller is pulling down on Nakamara's head to control his posture.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Miller is on top in guard.

Miller postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Nakamara is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Miller rolls with it to try and escape but Nakamara cranks on the arm and Miller is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Yoshido Nakamara!
