Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wickline Experiment (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wickline Experiment!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Experiment will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Pain shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
A bone on bone clash there as Pain blocks the leg kick.
Wickline Experiment seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pain lands with a kick to the temple. Experiment shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"


It looks like Wickline Experiment has been cut.
Experiment tries to clinch but Pain is having none of it.
Experiment tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pain swivels and escapes.

Pain shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Pain was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Experiment tries to reverse the position but Pain maintains control.
Experiment really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pain. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Experiment is desperately trying to improve his position but Pain has a good base and remains in mount.

Pain with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Experiment is looking to get to half guard.

Experiment slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Pain is trying to control the action in half guard but Experiment is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Pain scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Pain is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Pain is taking a breather. Experiment says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Experiment moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Experiment looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pain is one step ahead there.

Experiment will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Pain sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Experiment's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pain wants to lay and pray for a moment but Experiment keeps working.
Pain is controlling the pace.
Experiment misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Pain keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Max Pain just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

and Pain counters by moving into the clinch.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Experiment stuffs the takedown.

and Pain counters by moving into the clinch.
Pain drops down looking for an ankle pick but Experiment pulls his leg out and moves away.
Experiment rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pain moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Pain wants the takedown. Experiment is fighting it off but Pain persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Experiment's guard against the cage.

Experiment is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Pain postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Experiment is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Pain, into his guard.
Pain pulls Experiment in close to prevent any damage.
Experiment stopping the sweep attempt from Pain.
Experiment stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pain swivels though and keeps the full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pain manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Experiment manages to get himself to full guard.
Pain sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Experiment's guard.
Experiment is looking to improve his position.

Pain lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Pain uses his free foot to push down on Experiment's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Experiment.

Pain is landing with some decent strikes but Experiment is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Experiment defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Pain.
Pain lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Pain landing strikes, looking to finish!

Pain can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Experiment is looking to escape.

Pain's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Experiment pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Pain closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pain lands in his opponent's guard.
Pain forces his way into half guard.
Pain seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Experiment is looking to improve his position.
Experiment takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Pain controlling the pace.
Experiment is trying to stand.
Experiment is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Pain scores with a couple of nice shots.
Experiment is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Pain seems to be working for a kimura but Experiment defends the submission attempt.
Experiment is looking to control Pain's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Experiment avoid being mounted?
Pain wants to pass the guard but Experiment is defending well.
Pain lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Wickline Experiment has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Pain is nestled in close to Experiment, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Pain in particular looking to stall.
Experiment is looking for a sweep. Pain is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Pain passes the guard and advances to mount!
Pain postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Experiment looks a forlorn figure.

Pain is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Experiment is surviving well by controlling Pain's body position as best he can.

Max Pain is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Pain jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Experiment manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Pain avoids the strikes from the bottom by Experiment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Experiment is not content to let Pain control the position.
Pain is really struggling to control Experiment but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Max Pain showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Pain has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
