The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawking doesn't manage to clinch there - Gonzalez circles away.

Gonzalez feints and as Hawking raises his hands in defense, Gonzalez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Hawking lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Hawking avoids a punch combination nicely.

Hawking moves into range and clinches up with Gonzalez.
