Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cleo Haney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sam Tsui!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shigeki Sano and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tsui misses with a few strikes there.
Tsui will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Tsui doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Haney holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Tsui is trying to trip Haney. He has hold of a leg but Haney is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Tsui persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Tsui looking to pass the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tsui stays in close to Haney's body and controls the position.
Tsui trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Tsui pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Haney is keeping the position for now.
Tsui stands and throws Haney's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Haney defending against the ground and pound.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Haney tries to buck Tsui off but Tsui is having none of it.

Haney is looking to get to half guard.

Tsui has control of Haney's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Haney regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Haney knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tsui on the ground.
Tsui content just to control the position here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Tsui looking for a guillotine from mount but Haney is having none of it.

Tsui wants to control the pace but Haney is squirming around nicely.
Tsui dominating with strikes here.
Tsui with shots to the head and body - Haney looks very uncomfortable down there.

Tsui tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee warns Haney that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Oh Haney is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Tsui postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Haney bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Tsui and the fight is over!
