Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Travis Sharpe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Macadam Baird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Travis Sharpe could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Macadam Baird's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Travis Sharpe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Macadam Baird!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baird fails with a takedown attempt.
Baird will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Baird shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sharpe sprawls well. Sharpe wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Baird gets slowly back to his feet.
Travis Sharpe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Macadam Baird.
Baird looks to land a left hand but Sharpe moved out of range nicely.
Baird shoots in looking for a takedown but Sharpe manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Baird's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Sharpe fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Baird sprawls well initially but Sharpe persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Sharpe looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Baird with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Sharpe thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Sharpe landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Baird is looking for a sweep. Sharpe is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Sharpe drops an elbow to the side of Baird's head.

Sharpe thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Baird's head.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Sharpe throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Sharpe throws an elbow that misses. Baird uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Sharpe's guard. Nice move by Baird!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sharpe manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Baird is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Sharpe scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Baird?
It looks like Macadam Baird has been cut.
Baird regains half guard.
Baird gets full guard.

Sharpe throwing strikes from guard but Baird blocks nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sharpe postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Sharpe is working Baird over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Macadam Baird dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Macadam Baird's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Sharpe looking to score a takedown here. Baird is defending well but Sharpe drives through and ends up in Baird's guard.
Sharpe knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Baird on the ground.

Sharpe is desperately trying to improve his position but Baird has a good base and remains in mount.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Baird has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Sharpe has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Sharpe is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Gracie Barra Hilo (Sauna + Bang for your Buck), so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Sharpe tries to roll but Baird sticks to his back.
Baird working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Baird working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Sharpe is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Baird has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Sharpe taps out!
