Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Edgars Niedra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Commisioner Gordon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Commisioner Gordon will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gordon throws a big shot that misses.

Gordon shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Commisioner Gordon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gordon throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Niedra.
Niedra tries for a takedown but Gordon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Niedra dives in for a single leg takedown but Gordon sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Gordon leaves Niedra with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Gordon has hold of one of Niedra's legs. Niedra is fighting the takedown attempt but Gordon gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Gordon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Niedra swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gordon in particular looking to stall.

Well Gordon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
