The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin tries to clinch but Jackson moves away

and Jackson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Jackson blocks the strikes from Griffin.
Griffin misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Jackson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Griffin won't allow Jackson to pass to mount.
Griffin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jackson moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Griffin.
Griffin is looking to regain half guard here but Jackson keeps moving and retains side control.
Griffin throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Jackson has eaten all the pies!
Jackson tries to move into full mount but can't pass Griffin's legs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Griffin is trying to improve his position.

Jackson gets to mount! Griffin was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
