Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jamaal Russo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jack Daniels!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Russo throws a right hand that Daniels ducks under and follows up with a left that Daniels also avoids with ease.

Daniels rushes Russo and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Daniels manages to break the clinch.
Daniels scores with a kick to the midsection.
Daniels has his takedown stuffed

and Russo counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Russo postures up.
Daniels looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Daniels controls Russo momentarily but Russo frees himself.

Daniels closes the distance and pushes Russo back into the cage.
Russo tries to pull guard but Daniels forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Russo fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Russo tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Daniels smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jamaal Russo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Daniels clinches with his opponent.

Daniels breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Daniels lands a head kick. Russo smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

and Russo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Daniels won't be happy with that.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Daniels is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Russo asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Russo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Daniels keeps working.

Russo decides to stand up, so the ref orders Daniels to his feet.

Daniels is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Daniels breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Daniels swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Russo counters with a two punch combo.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jamaal Russo will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Daniels is breathing heavily.

Daniels is working to avoid the ground and pound but Russo connects with a decent elbow.

Russo stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Daniels shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Russo counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Daniels!

Russo stands up.
Russo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Daniels sprawls well. Daniels wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Russo gets slowly back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sloppy strikes from Russo. Those never looked like landing.

Daniels clinches.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Daniels tries to pull guard but Russo holds him up against the cage and eventually Daniels drops back down to his feet.
Jamaal Russo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Daniels.

Russo jumps guard and drags Daniels to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Russo pushes a forearm under Daniels's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Daniels is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jamaal Russo!
