Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paco Francia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and GK King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). GK King is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paco Francia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, GK King! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, John Mangel and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Francia tries to close the distance and clinch but King swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. King darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. King tries to pass to full mount but Francia defends it. King is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Francia doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time King. King is keen to just control but Francia is a slippery customer. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Francia is trying to stand back up but King is controlling him
King is trying to work for a kimura but Francia is defending well.
King is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's one minute gone in the round. Francia wants to get back to his feet.
King wants to free his trapped foot but Francia is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Francia tries to clinch up but King circles away and keeps his distance. Francia is looking to take this fight into the clinch. King circles away from the clinch attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. King tries to clinch but Francia moves out of range. Francia stuffs the takedown. King circles away from the clinch attempt and King counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. King wants to control from the top but Francia keeps moving. Francia is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Francia trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. King drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and King jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Francia is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. King wants to pass the guard but Francia is keeping the position. King thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. King pushes down on Francia's leg and manages to get into half guard. Francia is trying to stand up here but King is controlling him well.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Francia tries to clinch and King counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. King is looking to advance position but Francia won't allow it. King moves nicely into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. King wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Francia, who protects the arm well. King tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no King has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. King throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. King looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
GK King dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Francia on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. King fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Francia tries to grapple but his opponent circles and King counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Francia's guard now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. King stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Francia swivels though and keeps the full guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as King accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. King stops Francia from standing up. King pushes down on Francia's leg and manages to get into half guard. King passes to side control. King swings around for an armbar but Francia sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into King's guard. King lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Francia! King looking to control but Francia is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. King pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.

Poor strikes thrown by King there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Francia is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! King has taken his back! King working for the choke. Francia looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Francia is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if King gets his way!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. King is looking for the choke from the back position but Francia is controlling his hands well. King punches the canvas rather than the man. King looking for the choke but no joy. King is persistently looking for the submission but Francia is defending it well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. King is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Francia taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from King.
