Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Johns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Herb Dean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Johns! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Herb Dean! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, David Schapiro and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dean tries to close the distance and clinch but Johns swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Dean blocks a leg kick. Johns blocks a jab. Dean thows a left - swing and a miss! Dean looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Dean moves into the clinch. Johns tries to work over Dean's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Dean is trying to pull guard but Johns turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Johns is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Dean is defending well for now. Johns definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Johns throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Dean blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Johns tries to land a knee to the head but Dean blocks with his arms.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johns fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Johns got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dean has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Johns has managed to get both his arms back between Dean's legs - danger averted. Dean lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dean can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Johns keeping moving, preventing Dean from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johns throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Dean escapes and throws Johns's legs to the side, diving into side control! Johns struggling a bit here. Johns manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Johns gets back to full guard.
Dean is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Johns has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Dean is looking to defend but Johns has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Dean! Johns pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Dean taps out and this one is all over!
