Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hilo Son! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roberto Duran! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Son circles away from the clinch attempt.
Duran throws a series of punches but Son avoids them all with ease. Duran misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Duran shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Son as he avoids it easily. Duran tries a head kick but it misses.
Duran misses with a wild combination.
Duran tries to clinch but Son moves out of range. Duran throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Duran throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Duran throws a right hand that Son ducks under and follows up with a left that Son also avoids with ease. Son drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Son wants to control from the top but Duran keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Duran wants to get back to his feet but Son is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Son working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Duran's head. Duran is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Son looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Son works a leg free and moves into half guard. Son looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Duran is looking to control Son's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Duran avoid being mounted? Son working over Duran with some ground and pound. Duran looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Son moves into full mount! Duran won't be happy about that! Duran looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Son looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Son working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Duran turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Son off and cradles Duran's limp body as Son celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Hilo Son!
