Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Guseppe Carliano! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kendall Trent! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, John Roberts and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carliano tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Trent manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Trent looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Carliano cracks the inside of Trent's front leg. Carliano lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Trent has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Carliano tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Trent paws at him with a jab and circles away. Trent misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A nice inside leg kick there by Carliano. That's going to slow Trent down. Carliano turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Carliano gets in close and instigates a clinch. Carliano lands with a right to the head. Carliano working Trent over with knees to the body. Nice body punch from Carliano. Carliano lands a left hand that snaps the head of Trent backwards. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Carliano landing knees to the head.
It looks like Kendall Trent has been cut. Trent takes an elbow to the forehead. Carliano content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Carliano lands an elbow that stopped Trent in his tracks for a moment. Carliano lands an elbow inside.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carliano taking a breather. A nice glancing elbow lands by Carliano. Carliano scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Trent is rocked! Carliano tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Trent's elbow. Carliano stalling in the clinch.
Nice body punch from Carliano - that landed with a thud.
Carliano controlling the action here for a moment.
Carliano landing knees to the head.
Trent is still on wobbly legs! Can Carliano finish him? Carliano presses Trent against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Trent seems to have recovered his senses. Carliano drops Trent with a big knee straight up the middle! Trent is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Carliano moves into range and clinches up with Trent. Carliano landing knees to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carliano wants to stall.
Carliano lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Trent to his knees! Carliano keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Guseppe Carliano! During a confident post fight interview, Guseppe Carliano thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
