The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Sano and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanaka gets a double leg takedown into Concepcion's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Concepcion is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tanaka defends well.
Tanaka got a little sloppy there for a moment and Concepcion has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tanaka has managed to get both his arms back between Concepcion's legs - danger averted.

Concepcion sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Concepcion looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Tanaka changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Concepcion looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Tanaka closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Concepcion's guard.

Concepcion isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Tanaka stacks Concepcion on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Tanaka!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Tanaka connects with a nice short shot to Concepcion's temple.

Concepcion chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Tanaka can pounce on him.

Tanaka feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
