Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hendo Riggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Volkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hendo Riggs! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ivan Volkov! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Volkov misses with a takedown attempt and Riggs counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Volkov shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Riggs counters with a nice kick to the body. Riggs throws a leg kick but Volkov checks it. Volkov has his takedown stuffed and Riggs counters with a thumping low kick. Hendo Riggs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ivan Volkov. Volkov shoots and misses and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Riggs takes a swing at Volkov's ribcage but misses. Volkov has his takedown stuffed and Riggs counters with a nice body kick. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Excellent takedown into side control there by Volkov. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Volkov tries to move into full mount but can't pass Riggs's legs. Riggs wants to control but Volkov postures up. Volkov tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Riggs tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Volkov wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Riggs knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Volkov on the ground. Volkov tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. We've been hearing good reports from Riggs's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Riggs can't do much from the bottom here. Volkov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Riggs, who protects the arm well. Volkov thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Volkov goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Riggs rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Volkov's guard! Nice work there by Riggs! Riggs has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Riggs chips away with some ground and pound. Riggs working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Volkov's head. Riggs is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Volkov has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Riggs is looking to defend but Volkov has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Riggs! Volkov pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Riggs taps out and this one is all over!
